An exciting opportunity for a Climate Change Assistant with solid knowledge of carbon reduction, in particular greenhouse gas modelling, to influence the engineering design outcomes of the proposed High Speed Two rail network, which will link London with Birmingham and beyond. As the Climate Change Assistant you will be responsible for developing and managing carbon modelling and reporting across all phases of HS2 and the supply chain, specifically this will involve: Working with the Climate Change, Carbon Lead to develop key objectives and targets as well as carbon indicators and metrics; Developing and implementing HS2 greenhouse gas/carbon reporting both internally and via the supply chain; Working with the Climate Change, Carbon Lead to develop and manage periodical internal and external verification of carbon modelling; Supporting the project in its delivery of the Sponsors and project requirements in relation to carbon, particularly in the preparation and delivery and review of the environmental work required for the project. The ideal candidate will be degree educated  (or equivalent) in and environmental subject and will have proven technical knowledge of carbon modelling and reporting. You will have demonstrable knowledge of relevant engineering and environmental interfaces, such as BIM, and will either be a member or working towards membership of an appropriate environmental/ built environment institution (eg. IEMA, RTPI etc).
