As BREEAM Manager, you will have a unique opportunity to directly influence the direction and success of the BREEAM strategy, on the largest infrastructure programme in the UK. Reporting directly to the Sustainability Manager you will be responsible for ensuring that the project’s BREEAM targets are realised. Specifically this will involve: Developing HS2’s BREEAM Strategy outlining an approach for achieving BREEAM targets; Undertaking BREEAM pre-assessments as required or working with BREEAM assessors within the design teams; Ensuring that BREEAM requirements are embedded into contracts through a close working relationship with the Procurement team; Building professional relationships externally e.g. with the Building Research Establishment on development of bespoke criteria for HS2; Developing networks internally to ensure that sustainability is embedded throughout the design e.g. with the engineering, design team and the Phase 1 delivery directorate. The ideal candidate will hold a relevant degree coupled with associate membership of Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment or similar. You will have the ability to influence design teams to ensure that sustainable outcomes are achieved and will have a proven track record of implementing BREEAM or equivalent, in large, complex and/or major development/infrastructure projects.
